Equipment used

I have used Canon SLR cameras and lenses for nearly 40 years. I started with a Canon AE-1 and a couple of lenses and worked my way up through a series of film bodies, ending up with the Eos 3 at the turn of the Century.

In 2002 I went over to a digital body exclusively, that being the Eos D60. Then followed the 20D, 5D, 1D Mk111 and the 5D Mk2.

I now also use some Sony cameras, especially for landscape and travel photography.

Currently,I photograph with a Canon 1DX Mk2, a Sony A7R2 and my pocket "go everywhere" Sony RX100 Mk IV.

The lenses I use are:
Sony 24-70 f2.8 G Master
Canon 24-70 f2.8 L Mk II
Canon 16-35 f4L IS
Canon 70-200 f2.8 L Mk11
Canon 100-400 f4.5-5.6 L IS MkII
Canon 500 f4 IS L MkII
Canon Extender 1.4 Mk III
Metabones MkIV adapter - this lets me use all my Canon glass, with full functionality, on the Sony A7R2 body.

Accessories include a Gitzo GT354QLS tripod with both an Acratech AV2 ball head and a Wimberley Gimbal head for the long lenses. I also use a Gitzo Traveller tripod for mountain walks and City travel photography.

I use Lee filters. I have a set of hard, medium and soft graduated filters - 0.3, 0.6 and 0.9. In addition I use the Lee polariser. I have 3 ND filters, a Proglass 0.9, the Little Stopper and the Big Stopper.

For post processing I have an iMac 27 and a MacBook Pro Retina 15 laptop and Lacie external backup drives.

My workflow involves Lightroom CC and Photoshop CC. I sometimes use Nik software and Luminosity masks plugins. I print up to A3+ with an Epson Stylus Photo R3000 and use the excellent Whitewall professional Lab. for my large prints.
