About me
![]() With the creation of this web site I am really excited about the prospect of sharing my work. I have loved photography from the age of 12 when my Dad bought me a Kodak Instamatic. At 18 I got a Praktica SLR and have never looked back! Next came the wonderful Canon AE-1 and there followed a series of Canon SLRs, up to my current EOS 5D Mk II, 1D Mk.III and 7 L Series lenses. I also use the Zeiss Distagon 21mm lens. I went digital in 2002 and enjoyed all of its advantages from the very first outing I made with my D60. I have had images published in a number of National Photography Magazines, won a few competions and I belonged to two different Camera clubs in a past chapter of life. I launched this site to coincide with my semi-retirement in the English Lake District. A priority for me now is to photograph the beauty of this area throughout the seasons and to add portfolios of Travel Photography images collected as I explore other beautiful and interesting parts of the World. However, I also want to share my love of photography for a wider and more diverse range of subject material. I photograph Military Aircraft of all eras, Birds, Flowers and other aspects of Nature Photography. A recent challenge is to try to create evocative images of railway steam engines. Prints unmounted, mounted, framed and canvas block mounts are now available to purchase and I would be able to undertake any commissioned work in the Lake District or elsewhere in Cumbria or the Yorkshire Dales. My work has been exhibited by a few Galleries in the Lake District area and I have been running full day Landscape Photography Workshops in the Lakes area for 2 years now. I also run Post-Processing Tutorial sessions from my home studio. I do hope you enjoy my photographs and please do get in touch via my Contact or Guestbook links. Kind regards, Adrian |
